Day 1, Post 1, Blog...3?
Hello, there! This is not my first blog. Or even my second. Many, many years ago I decided it would be a good idea to start a reading blog. Because obviously people would be interested--eager, even--to read about what I was reading, right? Yeah, not so much. I think my mother was probably the only one who checked it out regularly. And yay for moms (and dads), right? Everything you do is interesting to your parents. I kept it up for a few years, but my desire to read quickly outpaced my desire to update my blog with every title, author, page length, summary, opinion, and favorite quote I came across. That is a lot of work. I do wish I'd kept up with the favorite quotes, though. Those were a lot of fun.
My second attempt was more of a "slice of life" diary/journal blog. Since I don't actually have much of a life (I mean, I'm a single asexual librarian who lives alone with two cats--I embody at least six stereotypes here) it wasn't very interesting. I mean, sure, there were a couple of particularly well-done entries (my mom said so!) but nothing earth shattering. And then I got really, really sick and my focus turned to keeping myself alive instead of keeping my blog alive. (PS--breast cancer sucks)
I've missed putting my thoughts down on paper online, though. They say "the third time's the charm" so maybe this one'll stick. Unfortunately, my mom's no longer around to read (and give totally impartial approval of) this latest iteration. I'll just have to trust myself that this isn't absolute bullshit (PPS--I swear a lot.)
